Privacy Policy

What ScoutEdge collects, what it does with the data, and what rights you have over it. We keep it short, because we collect little.

01Information We Collect

We collect only what the Service needs to operate:

• Account information. Email address, hashed password, display name, role, subscription status, and email-notification preferences.
• User Content. The flags, picks, notes, and watchlist entries you create inside the Service.
• Usage data. Minimal server-side logs covering IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status, user agent, and referrer. Retained for a short rolling window for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention.
• Billing information. Handled by our payment processor (see below). We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials on our servers; we store only a processor-assigned customer identifier and the last four digits / expiry needed to display the card on your billing screen.

02How We Use Information

• To create and operate your account.
• To display your flags, picks, record, and stats to you.
• To bill subscriptions, send receipts, and recover failed payments.
• To send transactional email (verification, password reset, billing notices) and, if you opt in, periodic digests.
• To diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and secure the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for third-party advertising.

03Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy; follow the links to review them.

• StripeBilling processor (once wired). Receives payment-method and billing-address details necessary to process a subscription. We never receive your full card number.
• HostingerHosting provider for the application and database. Processes requests and stores data on our behalf as a sub-processor.
• Open-MeteoPublic weather API. We query ballpark/stadium coordinates only; no personal data is sent.
• ESPN / MLB Stats API / NHL Stats APIPublic first-party sports-data endpoints. We fetch schedules, scores, and lines. No personal data is sent.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, pixel trackers, or data brokers.

04Cookies

ScoutEdge uses first-party session cookies only: a session identifier that keeps you logged in, and a CSRF token that protects form submissions. No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies, no cross-site identifiers.

05Data Retention

• Flags and User Content. Kept indefinitely while your account is active, so your long-term hit-rate record stays intact. You can delete individual flags at any time, or request full-account deletion.
• Account record. Kept while the account is active; deleted on request or after a reasonable period following account closure.
• Billing records. Retained as required by applicable tax and accounting law (typically seven years).
• Server logs. Retained on a short rolling window (typically 14 to 30 days).

06Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have one or more of the following rights:

• Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction. Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion. Delete your account and the User Content tied to it, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Portability. Receive your User Content in a machine-readable format.
• Objection. Object to specific processing activities.

07Children's Privacy

ScoutEdge is not intended for anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, email support@scoutedge.site and we will delete the account and associated data.

08Security

We hash passwords, serve all pages over TLS, scope data access by role, and keep the host and framework patched. No system is perfectly secure; we encourage strong, unique passwords and will notify affected users promptly if a breach occurs.

09International Transfers

ScoutEdge is hosted in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information is transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service you consent to this transfer.

10Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated by in-app notice or email where feasible.
